What to know before extracting audio.

Is my video uploaded?

No. The video is read locally by your browser. Its bytes, name, media metadata, and extracted audio are not sent to MingLabs or an audio conversion server.

Does extracting the original audio reduce quality?

No, when the codec can be copied into an audio-only container. Original mode copies encoded audio packets without re-encoding. MP3 and WAV modes decode the source and create a new audio file.

What is the difference between MP3 and WAV?

MP3 uses lossy compression and is much smaller. WAV here contains uncompressed 16-bit PCM and is useful for editing, but can be very large.

Can I extract audio from MP4, MOV, WebM, or MKV?

The tool understands these common containers, but success also depends on the audio codec inside the file and what the current browser can decode.

Why is original audio unavailable for my video?

Some source codecs do not have a safe, broadly usable audio-only container in this first version. MP3 or WAV may still work if the browser can decode that codec.

Can this download audio from a YouTube or social video URL?

No. This page only works with a file already stored on your device. It does not fetch or download media from third-party sites.
